Fotona StarWalker

StarWalker is Fotona's Nd:YAG laser platform, notable for the range of wavelength and pulse combinations available. The clinic uses it for compound problems — pigment, pores and laxity together — rather than a single spot.

What multi-wavelength means

Different laser wavelengths are absorbed by different targets and reach different depths. A single-wavelength device is good at one class of problem; the value of a multi-wavelength platform is being able to combine them in one session.

For the common combination of spots plus enlarged pores plus early laxity, treating each separately means more visits and a longer overall timeline. The clinic's description is 「색소 제거 후 모공•탄력 관리까지 한 세션 내 해결」 — pigment treated, then pores and firmness addressed within the same session.

"Several problems in one session" doesn't mean "done in one session". It saves switching between treatments on a single visit; the course as a whole still runs over multiple sessions.

Typically suited to

  • Pigment alongside pore and texture concerns
  • Uneven tone with loss of firmness
  • Covering several concerns within a limited number of visits
  • Pigment previously treated alone, with the overall complexion still unsatisfactory

For melasma control on its own, low-energy toning (Revlite) is usually the steadier starting point; StarWalker suits compound goals.

Procedure and recovery

Sensation depends on the wavelengths and energy selected — typically heat and mild stinging. Topical anaesthetic may be used depending on the plan.

Brief redness afterwards is common and usually settles the same or next day. If epidermal spots are treated, fine crusts may form and fall off over a few days — do not pick at them; forcing crusts off is the usual cause of leftover pigmentation.

Strict sun protection and extra moisturising afterwards, as with all pigment treatment.

Precautions

  • Strict sun protection before and after
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Postpone if recently sun-exposed, sunburnt or with active inflammation
  • Tell the doctor about photosensitising medication
  • Mention keloid tendency or recurrent cold sores

Avoid scratching or rubbing while crusts are present — this directly affects whether pigmentation is left behind.

Pricing

Held as a placeholder in this phase. The clinic's website publishes promotional package prices, which are time-sensitive; we recommend using the statutory non-covered fee schedule (비급여 의료 수가표) in a later phase, presented as a crawlable HTML table. Final pricing is confirmed at consultation.
