Repair versus hydration

A hyaluronic acid booster works directly: a water-binding carrier goes into the superficial dermis, the skin immediately looks plumper and brighter, and the effect fades as it is metabolised.

Polynucleotide takes another route. It doesn't supply volume or water; it influences the skin's own repair processes — improving barrier function and supporting dermal repair and regeneration. So the change comes slowly, usually clear only after several sessions; but what changes is the skin's own condition, not something temporarily added.

The clinic maps it to 「예민•손상피부」 — sensitive, damaged skin — which is where it most often appears in a plan: an unstable barrier, easy redness and reactivity, or the repair phase after energy-based treatment.

Rejuran comes in several formulations (Healer, S, I and others) for different areas and needs; the doctor chooses by skin condition.

Typically suited to

• An unstable barrier — easily red, sensitive, dry
• The repair phase after acne marks or recurrent breakouts
• More fine lines, reduced elasticity
• Thin-skinned areas such as around the eyes
• Recovery support after energy-based treatments (timing set by the doctor)
• Long-term maintenance rather than immediate change

If the goal is to look plump and hydrated straight away, a hyaluronic acid booster is usually the better fit; Rejuran's value is slower but more fundamental repair.

Procedure and recovery

Topical anaesthetic is usual. Injection produces a pricking sensation, more noticeable around the eyes.

Small papules at injection points are the normal sign of product not yet absorbed and usually flatten within one to three days, occasionally longer. Mild bruising around the eyes is possible.

If your trip includes an important occasion, allow for these days.

Usually planned as several sessions spaced by weeks, as the doctor decides. The effect accumulates; feeling that "not much has changed" partway through is normal for this kind of treatment.

Precautions

• Not suitable for anyone allergic to salmon or fish products — please say so at consultation
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Postpone during active infection, inflammation or a cold-sore outbreak
• Mention bleeding disorders or anticoagulant use
• No make-up for 24 hours; don't rub the injection sites
• Sun protection and moisturising during recovery

The allergy point matters particularly here — please don't leave it out.
