Thermage FLX
Thermage FLX is a monopolar radiofrequency device. The clinic positions it as the surface axis of its lifting programme, in a division of labour with Ultherapy Prime — the website's words are 「표피~진피층 콜라겐 재생」 (collagen regeneration from epidermis to dermis) and 「울쎄라와 병합시 심부+표면 동시 개선」 (deep and surface improve together when combined with Ultherapy).

Radiofrequency versus ultrasound
This is the most-asked question in lifting, and the reason "which is better, Ultherapy or Thermage?" has no direct answer: they do fundamentally different things.
Focused ultrasound concentrates energy at a tiny point and sends it deep — as far as the fascial layer — like reinforcing a support structure at specific points. Its strength is deep lift; its improvement of surface texture is limited.
Monopolar radiofrequency drives current through tissue to generate heat, spreading energy relatively evenly within a zone that mainly covers epidermis to dermis. Its strength is overall tightening and skin quality — density, fine lines and pore appearance usually improve together.
So they are complementary. The clinic's "two axes" is exactly this split: one pulls the structure up, one tightens the skin itself.
What the FLX generation brings
Thermage has been through several generations; FLX is a recent one. The main changes over earlier models are in evenness of energy delivery, treatment time and comfort handling.
The device cools the epidermis while delivering radiofrequency — the standard way RF devices protect the skin surface — and most units add vibration to disperse discomfort.
Dosing is again in "shots". A full face uses a fairly standard range, set by area and skin condition. As with ultrasound, confirm the shot count and areas when asking for a quote; otherwise clinics' prices aren't comparable.
Typically suited to
- Skin that has lost its spring and feels lax
- More fine lines, pores stretched by laxity
- Wanting overall skin quality improved alongside lifting
- A thin facial fat layer, unsuited to energy concentrated deep
- As a complement or alternate to ultrasound
- Tightening in thin-skinned areas such as around the eyes (subject to assessment)
Procedure and recovery
The sensation cycles through warm, a brief hot flash, then relief. Intensity depends on the energy setting; the doctor adjusts to your feedback.
Brief redness and warmth afterwards usually settle the same or next day. Most people carry on as normal — among lifting treatments, recovery is on the short side.
A few people have mild swelling or tenderness for a few days. Results are gradual: the collagen change from radiofrequency typically shows over weeks and may keep improving for months.
Precautions
- Not suitable if you have an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator — you must tell the doctor
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Tell the doctor about metal implants in the treatment area
- Tell the doctor about previous filler injections — location and material
- Postpone if there is active inflammation or infection
- Sun protection and hydration afterwards; avoid heat
The contraindication for implanted electronic devices with radiofrequency is clear-cut. Please do not withhold it.
Pricing
Held as a placeholder in this phase. The clinic's website publishes promotional package prices, which are time-sensitive; we recommend using the statutory non-covered fee schedule (비급여 의료 수가표) in a later phase, presented as a crawlable HTML table. Final pricing is confirmed at consultation.
