What interchangeable transducers mean

Skin thickness varies a lot across the face: the forehead, cheekbones, jaw border and neck don't need the same working depth. Treating the whole face at one depth means either not deep enough in some places or too much in others.

Shurink Universe is designed so that transducers (카트리지) of different specifications are swapped by area, giving each region a matched depth. That is why it tends to be used for plans covering larger areas with clear regional differences.

The website is explicit about its relationship with the other two devices: 「울쎄라•써마지와 병합 설계」 — designed in combination with Ultherapy and Thermage, not as a replacement for either.

How it relates to Ultherapy

The underlying principle is similar — ultrasound energy focused at a set depth creates thermal coagulation points that trigger collagen remodelling. The differences are in device design, transducer configuration, energy parameters and imaging.

A common misconception is that "the Korean device is just a budget version of the American one". More accurately: these are two different manufacturers' devices with different parameter designs and use cases. Ultherapy Prime's real-time imaging and 4.5 mm setting are what draw attention to it; Shurink Universe has its own strengths in transducer choice and per-session coverage, and is usually more accessible in price.

In practice they are not always either/or — the doctor may use each on different areas, or alternate them across stages of a course.

Typically suited to

• Mild to moderate general facial laxity, for routine maintenance
• Noticeably different degrees of laxity across areas, needing zoned treatment
• A first lifting treatment, starting with a widely tolerated option
• Larger coverage such as full face plus neck
• Balancing budget against result

Procedure and recovery

The sensation is similar to other focused-ultrasound devices — heat and deep aching. Brief redness or mild swelling afterwards usually settles within days.

Recovery generally doesn't interfere with work or social plans, but avoid vigorous exercise, heat and alcohol on the day.

Results are gradual. Dosing is in lines, and price relates directly to line count and areas covered.

Precautions

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Postpone if there is active infection or an open wound
• Tell the doctor about previous fillers or thread lifts in the face
• Tell the doctor about implanted electronic devices
• Sun protection and moisturising afterwards
